Happy New Year! I have been MIA here at Raven Would for the past few weeks. Sorry about that! But I have been busy making gifts for my family and I couldn’t show them to you all until after Christmas for fear of them seeing all the goodies I had made. 🙂
The crocheted halter was something I would have never tried but my daughter had found a youtube tutorial here and it was easy to follow. It took me awhile but I love how it turned out and so does my daughter.
The hats I knitted for my husband who loves to wear beanies in the winter were a simple knit 2, purl 2 rib. The black and gold one is for his love of the Boston Bruins and I thought the gray would be a nice neutral for him to wear.
My oldest daughter had wanted a crocheted Bumble (from Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer) hat. I tried to accommodate her but I tried twice with the pattern I had and gave up because it wasn’t turning out well. Instead, I knitted her this beautiful cowl; the picture doesn’t do it any justice. It is so soft! I have a new found love for the Hobby Lobby brand yarn, I love this Chunky yarn. I found the pattern for the cowl at Red Heart here.
For my two youngest daughters, I knitted a couple of cowls that were quick to whip up. Each one took about three hours using this pattern. It helped that the yarn I used was super bulky. I also crocheted them each a pair of boots, a clutch, and a backpack for their American Girl dolls. The pattern for the clutch is here. I took pieces from a couple of patterns for the boots and then made it my own way. But for the backpack, I made up my own pattern, which is something I have never done before, or at least never written the instructions down to make more than one of something.
The backpack is easy and takes about an hour to make. The pattern is here as a downloadable PDF.
Here is a video on how to make a magic ring if you need to know how to start off.
My youngest daughters were thrilled with the backpack. I was informed their dolls are going to Disneyland and using the backpacks as carry-ons.
Have fun making it!
Also please let me know if you need any help with the pattern as this was my first time writing one.
I will be linking up with these parties.
