Gram’s Chocolate Chip Peanut Butter Fudge

Gram’s Chocolate Chip Peanut Butter Fudge

My mom sent me a recipe a few weeks ago that belonged to my Grandma. I don’t remember her making it for me, but my mom said she used to make it when she was little. After dinner and the kitchen was cleaned up but before all the good radio shows would come on, Grammy would make this fudge for my mom and uncle.

This is my Gram in 1942.

Yesterday would have been my Gram’s 95th birthday. I miss her tons. She passed a little over a year ago and I truly miss talking to her. She had some great stories. A few of my favorites were of her growing up in England, marrying my Grandfather and coming to the U.S. on the first repatriation ship after the war. She was an all around lovely person and she had an interesting life. I’m so glad that all my daughters were able to know and enjoy their Great Grandmother.

This is how I always remember her, laughing. This was taken in 2010 when she was 89.

My Gram was a wonderful baker. Closer to the holidays, I will share some of her recipes that are a tradition in our house every Christmas. For now, I’m going to share this fudge recipe that turned out yummy!

Recipe Notes

While I was boiling the milk I realized I was actually making my own sweetened condensed milk. I sampled it and it was delicious. (better than the canned stuff)  I used an 8X8 pan so the pieces were thin but that was okay because it is rich.

We all loved it! Hope you do too!

Enjoy!
