Stenciled Burlap

Stenciled Burlap

I know I’m probably the last to the party on the stretched burlap but I found one the other day while perusing Walmart’s craft area. I was searching for a sealer to squirt into my paint rather than spraying on after I paint. I had a really hard time finding one at other craft stores but finally found it at Jo-anns.

Anyway I picked up this stretched burlap canvas, if that is what it is called, and knew I needed to do something for Thanksgiving on it. I mulled it over for a few days until I saw my poor un-used Cricut in the closet and decided I should pull it out and find something on one of the cartridges collecting dust.  I’m sure if you don’t have a cricut it would be easy to find something off the internet to print and cut out by hand.

I picked the pumpkin from the Damask Decor cartridge and since my canvas was 12×12 I cut the design to fit a 12×12 page.

I didn’t have any adhesive so I taped it down and started outlining in sharpie.

Not the greatest outlining but after I painted it, it turned out great.

I have an idea for a trio of Christmas ones that I hope to try before it gets too late.
