Knit & Crochet Baymax Travel Cup Cozy

My girls love Baymax from Big Hero 6 so I wanted to make them something with him on it as a gift. I meant to make these coffee cup cozies as stocking stuffers for my oldest girls but time got away from me. They will make really cute Valentine’s gifts now.  I might have to make another for myself.

They were so quick and easy to make. I started by casting 16 stitches onto size 8 straight needles.

Rows 1 & 2 were k2, p2 repeated until the end of each row.

Rows 3 & 4 were p2, k2 repeated until the end of each row.

Repeat rows 1-4 until the piece measures 9 inches long.

Bind off and join edges together.

To make the eyes, I crocheted four magic rings. If you don’t know how to do a magic ring, I have a video tutorial .

 

 

 

 

The eyes are 8 single crochet into the magic ring, then tie off.

I left long enough tails on the eyes to sew them onto the cozies. For the mouth, I kept one of the tails and stretched it across to the other eye and then secured it.

 

 

 

 

My girls are going to love them!  I can’t wait to give them their cozies.
